Hubei Institute of Economics and Management, founded in 1983, with the approval of Hubei Provincial Government and Ministry of Education P.R.C., is a regular, multi-subjects and comprehensive institute of undergraduate and graduate education, including Wuhan Foreign Languages Test/Training Center of personnel preparing for studying abroad from national industrial and commercial enterprises(BFT) and Branch School of Central China Normal University. In 2002,3, HIEM was appointed by National Economic and Trade Commission as Wuhan Executives Institute, which will train medium and high level executives. In 1998, HIEM was appointed as the Civil-Servants Training Center of Hubei Province by the Education Department. In 1999, with the approval of the Education Department of Hubei Province, E-Strong Institute of Business Administration was established with Armstrong University of USA, which operates MBA, BBA and EMBA. On March 25, 2002, HIEM and Nancy Mines Institute, France, signed the project agreement to cooperate in master degree of industry modernization, industry transference and continuous development. HIEM has been praised many times by the authorities and superiors.

　　Located in Wuhan Light Valley, with a floor space of 110,000 square meters (80,000 main campus & 30,000 new branch campus), the Institute has pleasant surroundings and fine facilities for living and academic activities. The teaching and research staff include 76 professors and associate professors, 50 guest professors and about 100 lecturers. It consists of 9 departments: Business Administration, Finance Administration, Computer Information, Politics & Law, Foreign Languages, Essential Courses, Training, Correspondence Teaching and Center of Foreign Languages Training, offering over 20 specialities for undergraduates, graduates, professional training. There are 10,000 students-4,000 full-time undergraduates and 6,000 adult & part-time students. The School Board, composed of 57 large and famous enterprises, founded the School Board Found, offering scholarship for top students. Having trained more than 40,000 all kinds of talents in recent 20 years, the Institute is regarded as the Infant of Enterprisers.
